Milton Keynes woman to conquer UK’s tallest abseil tower for charity

A local Milton Keynes woman is set abseil down a staggering 418ft abseil tower, measured as the tallest in the UK, to raise money for a children's charity.

Valerie from Playful Pottery, located in Shenley Church End, will be abseiling down the National Lift Tower, measured to be 418ft tall and announced as the UK’s tallest abseiling tower, this Saturday, July 13, to raise funds for charity Little Miracles.

Valerie is aiming to raise at least £1,000 for Little Miracles, a charity that helps children with life limiting conditions, additional needs, and disabilities. The charity has 18 branches, one of them located in Milton Keynes.

Little Miracles, run by volunteers, was founded to enable everyone to feel the happiness that comes from having a family. A place where good memories are created and where there is safety, understanding, and friendship.

Valerie has seen first-hand of what Little Miracles provide and wants to do her bit to support such a great cause. Valerie has previously accomplished daring challenges to raise money but has set a goal to beat her record from previous fundraising antics.

Valerie has never abseiled before and has stated she is ‘terrified’. She told MKFM, “I became aware of this wonderful charity when Little Miracles brought a group of amazing children and adults along to our pottery studio. I’m pushing myself to overcome any fear I have in doing this in hopes of raising £1,000 for Little Miracles. It is the highest abseil tower in the world at 418ft. I have NEVER abseiled before!”

Little Miracles offer families counselling, family support, educational support, friendship groups and so much more. The children are able to access school holiday activities, sensory support, play therapy, alternative therapies, and anger therapy at no cost to the family.

Valerie concluded, “The thought of your donations and what it would mean to this charity is what will help me step off that ledge. Little Miracles cannot survive without our help, so please help me reach my goal by donating as much or little as you can.”

Valerie will be abseiling down the National Lift Tower Saturday, July 13. If you would like to donate, please visit here.
