Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) has celebrated the NHS’ 75th birthday year by unveiling its ambitious plans for the future of the hospital estate.

The hospital's visionary site development plans, known as ‘MK View’, are now accessible to the public via a new dedicated microsite - here

The website presents the hospital's exciting estate expansion plans up to 2030, which will see MKUH deliver additional capacity and use of cutting-edge technological enhancements, to ensure the Trust meets the future acute care needs of the rapidly growing local population.

The MK View programme includes the construction of a new Women’s and Children's Hospital, as part of the government's national New Hospital Programme development, co-locating paediatric and maternity care as well as providing additional surgical capacity.

The vision for the new hospital, including architect impressions and a flyover, can be found on the new website.

Rebecca Grindley, Programme Director at Milton Keynes University Hospital, said: "We are delighted to be able to share our future transformative plans for the hospital estate. Meeting the needs of the thriving community of Milton Keynes City is incredibly important to us.

"Expanding the hospital estate whilst harnessing the best in technology advancement to support our workforce is paramount in allowing the hospital to deliver exemplary modern acute healthcare services."

The site also highlights MKUH's plans to develop a new imaging centre, additional wards and further parking, plus current work to provide further cancer care services, with a new Radiotherapy Centre currently under construction and due to be completed in late 2024.

MKUH says it will be actively engaging with staff, patients, and the local community regarding its programme of site development work.

The MK View website will contain all the latest details of planned events where you can find out more.
