Milton Keynes University Hospital recently annouced that they have relocated their Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU), citing privacy as one of the main reasons behind the change.
In a statement released earlier this week, a spokesperson for Milton Keynes University Hospital explained the move as they said: "As part of a programme of work to improve patient experience across the Trust, we have relocated our Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit from ward 10 to a dedicated, separate unit in ward 9.
"The new EPAU will open 1st July and has been the result of some excellent collaborative working between teams in our maternity, estates and IT departments.
"The new unit will have its own dedicated entrance and reception desk, with users entering the updated facility via ward 8. The change in location will enable us to ensure those using the facility will have the necessary privacy that they need and that we are able to provide them with the best possible support.
"Separate doors into ward 9 have further been installed, ensuring that the unit is self-contained and accommodates the sensitive nature of the service.
"Temporary signage has been installed to direct users to the new facility and there are plans to update all wayfinding across the hospital in the coming weeks.
The contact information for the unit remains the same – if you have any questions or concerns, please contact 01908 995 402.
