A multi-storey car park in Central Milton Keynes remains closed following a car fire on New Year's Eve.
At around 10:27am on Sunday 31 December 2023, firefighters from Broughton and West Ashland were called to a car fire in Central Milton Keynes.
A car was on fire on the second floor of the Midsummer Place multi-storey car park.
The car park and shopping centre were evacuated.
The firefighters used a dry riser, two sets of breathing apparatus and one main jet.
The car was 100 per cent affected by fire and the structural steel of the car park suffered heat and fire damage. Thames Valley Police also attended the scene.
The Midsummer Place multi-storey car park is still closed following a car fire on New Year’s Eve. All retailers within the centre are open as normal.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the shopping centre said: "The Midsummer Place multi-storey car park is still closed following a car fire on New Year’s Eve, however all retailers within the centre are open as normal.
"We will continue to update you on when the car park will reopen and in the meantime thank you kindly for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused."
