Milton Keynes secondary school receives number of nominations for MKFM Doughnut Run

It follows events earlier this week which saw Oakgrove School having to close for two days.

Oakgrove School in Milton Keynes received a number of nominations from residents for MKFM's Doughnut Run.

Earlier this week, secondary school was forced to close after large group of travellers set up on the field. Pupils at Oakgrove School were forced to work from home on Monday and Tuesday, due to the school site not being 'safe for students or staff'.

After several attempts to remove the travellers from the site and as a result of the legal order not being complied with, officers were reportedly forced to remove the unauthorised encampment.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said 4 vehicles and 3 caravans were seized and 2 arrests were made following an operation to remove the illegal encampment.

MKFM received a number of nominations for Oakgrove School to win 24 doughnuts from Tim Hortons, as part of the popular MKFM Doughnut Run.

As a result from the nominations, the school received a special delivery of doughnuts, from a member of the MKFM team and teachers got to choose two songs for us to play on-air.

The MKFM Doughnut Run gives listeners and residents the chance to nominate a workplace, school or charity to win a treat.
