Milton Keynes Rugby Club to host Open Day

Milton Keynes Rugby Club is set to host its first open rugby day next month.

On Sunday 20th of August, Milton Keynes Rugby Club (MKRUFC) will be hosting their first open rugby day at Emerson Valley Sports Pavilion at 12:00pm.

The Open Day aims to provide an inclusive experience for new and interested players from age six.

The club is looking to teach and inspire those who attend in a four hour rugby filled event.

Those who participate don’t have to have any rugby skills, knowledge or experience just a desire to ‘Give it a Try’.

Parallel to the event, the club is looking to use the day to launch and recruit female players between 12 – 15 years old to train at the club on Sundays at 10:30-11:30 am and 16-17 year olds to train Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00-8pm, supporting the club’s 2023/2024 initiative to increase female involvement to build additional team opportunities alongside their Women’s NC2 side.

The event will have a variety of skills sessions catered for every age which will be led and supported by female players and coaches along with other members of the club.

Additionally, there will also be a touch rugby game where players can put what they learned into practice along with food, drinks and a chance to meet others in the community.

‘Give it a Try’ expands beyond players and into the wider community to support, nurture and grow exposure of the club.
