A Milton Keynes roofer travelled to Buckingham to rescue kitten from high pitched roof, after seeing a Facebook post by owner.
Yesterday, August 1, daughter of Buckingham residents, Jodie and Wayne, noticed a cat on the ridge of their high pitched roof in the evening. To their horror, Jodie and Wayne quickly realised it was their 11-month-old kitten Pandora, who had never been outdoors.
Pandora managed to escape out of the Velux loft windows and found herself stuck on their roof. As an admin of a local Facebook page, Buckingham Recommends, Jodie quickly posted with a photo of Pandora on the roof.
Following her post, Jodie had a fast response from George Gregory of GG & Sons, a Milton Keynes-based roofing and construction company. George messaged Jodie to let her know he was jumping in his van and to send over their address.
After WhatsApping George the address, he responded saying, “I’ll be 19 mins”. True to his word George arrived and took action straight away. He used his roofing skills to make a ladder in the roof tiles by pushing them up professionally.
Once George made it to Pandora, he picked her up and managed to pass her to Jodie’s daughter the same way Pandora originally escaped, the Velux loft window.
After the rescue, George refused to take payment or a gift and instead stayed a while chatting with Jodie and Wayne about some shared interests as Jodie and Wayne run a handyman business, Wayne The Handy Man, and George a construction company.
Jodie told MKFM, “George is an absolute star. We can't thank him enough!”
George told MKFM, “We are just pleased as a local family run business we can give back and help in an emergency.”
