A new scam is circulating on Whatsapp offering a 'free chocolate basket'.
Residents across Milton Keynes may have received whatsapp messages, they are being warned not to click on the link.
The scam offers people a chance to get a 'free Cadbury's chocolate basket'.
A warning has been issued by Cadbury's over the scam which is currently circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms. We've been made aware of circulating posts on social media claiming to offer consumers a free Easter chocolate basket
"We can confirm this hasn't been generated by us & we urge consumers not to interact."
Local trading standards have also issued warning to residents.
In a post shared by MK Trading Standards, they are telling residents to report the scam.
MK Trading Standards retweeted the following message from East Mids Cyber Secure: "If you receive a message offering a free easter chocolate basket, this is a phishing scam. Don't click the link. Forward it to 7726 to be investigated by the NCSC. If you have entered personal details, please report to Action Fraud."
