Bus service will keep local people ‘more connected’.
The biggest expansion to Milton Keynes’ local transport system in more than five years has been announced. It’s a new bus service, and follows a partnership between Milton Keynes City Council, Arriva and the MK Bus Partnership.
The City Council has been working closely with Arriva and the MK Bus Partnership to create the 'Loop’, a brand new bus service which will connect communities in Milton Keynes.
The 'Loop' will connect residents in Oakgrove, Woburn Sands, Bow Brickhill, Bletchley, Caldecotte, Furzton, Westcroft and Shenley Wood to key destinations such as Kingston, The Open University, MK Hospital, Stadium MK and Milton Keynes City Centre.
The service launches on 6th January, and will operate in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions, with buses running up to every hour, Monday to Saturday.
“This new route is an example of what collaboration can achieve,” said Cllr Akash Nayee, Cabinet Member for Public Realm. “The new 'Loop' service will allow residents to feel more connected, with better access to major shopping areas, education and workplaces.
“Labour pledged to deliver better bus services and we are delivering on our promises. By working with our local bus operator, collecting data and listening to residents, we have been able to ensure people in MK have a new service which is tailored to them.”
