Milton Keynes residents over 70 who haven’t received a vaccination are invited to book an appointment

Elderly residents over the age of 70 who haven’t already been contacted about a vaccination are encouraged to now contact the NHS to receive their first dose.

NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes gave additional information on the booking process as they posted online: “People aged 70 and over who have not yet been vaccinated against COVID and who would like to be are today being asked to contact the NHS to arrange a jab.

“Until now the NHS has asked people to wait until they are contacted to help ensure that those who are most vulnerable are protected first – and that remains the case for most people.

“However, to ensure absolutely everyone is offered the vaccine, people aged 70 and over can now contact the NHS so they can be vaccinated by the middle of this month.

“The easiest way to arrange a vaccination is through the national booking service which can be accessed at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination.

“Anyone unable to book online can call 119 free of charge, anytime between 7am and 11pm seven days a week.”

This news comes are earlier today (10/02) celebrities Sir Elton John and Sir Michael Caine featured in a promotional video to encourage people to get vaccinated.

Commenting on the video, local councillor George Bowyer said: “The Covid vaccines are safe and will help us defeat the pandemic all the sooner.

“Don’t miss out, do your bit and get vaccinated as soon as you can.”
