Milton Keynes residents can expect text messages and emails from the council as part of annual canvass

The annual canvass ensures that the council can keep the electoral register up to date, identifying any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

Milton Keynes Council is reminding residents that they should expect text messages and emails from them as part of the annual canvass.

With many scam messages making the rounds, MK Council can assure residents that messages coming from 'milton.keynes.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.ukare legitimate.

Milton Keynes Council say: "We're emailing and texting residents in Milton Keynes about the annual canvass which ensures the electoral register is up to date.

"Please ensure you respond where required as soon as you can."

Occupiers are required to check the information and confirm that it is correct or make any changes that are necessary so that a revised register can be published on 1 December.

Different forms are sent to all residential properties during the canvass, please check the form carefully and respond as soon as you can only if it requires you to do so.

The Register is not connected to any other council records, paying Council Tax is not enough to make sure you can vote.
