Milton Keynes Theatre will be reopening from Wednesday 19th May with brand new attractions.
“As with all businesses affected by the pandemic, the last year has been incredibly tough for the museum, but it makes news of our reopening all the more exciting,” said MK Museum director Bill Griffiths, “We have a wonderful supportive community and can't wait to welcome them back again – and we look forward to seeing lots of new faces too.”
Visitors will still be able to enjoy life in a Victorian farmhouse, can explore the museum's fascinating street of shops, and be thrilled by the communication gallery.
Ticket-holders will also be able to see how we used to travel in its transport gallery, and a trip to the museum gives a chance to enjoy the gardens, which are springing into life, with nesting birds, growing tadpoles and visiting foxes.
But the museum has been keeping busy during the lockdown working on new attractions too; a new toy exhibit will thrill youngsters (and everyone young at heart) as it explores the story of childhood.
The museum has also returned one of its spaces to its original purpose and will show what life was like working as a servant in a big house. A space looking at village life has been completely revamped, and visitors will also be able to learn more about the history of the farm itself.
“We have been working really hard to deliver the new attractions and can't wait to share the new exhibits with everyone, Bill said, “During the past year or so, we have all found ourselves living through a real 'moment' in global history, and later in the year we will be sharing MK residents' recollections of this most extraordinary of times with a special exhibition. But first, we look forward to opening our doors and doing what we do best; giving all ages a fantastic day out!”
