Milton Keynes man jailed for rape

Oldbrook man faces more than seven years in prison.

A man has been jailed for a rape in Milton Keynes, following a Thames Valley Police investigation.

John Dugan, 29, of Larwood Place, was sentenced to seven and half years in prison last Friday at Aylesbury Crown Court.

He was found guilty of two counts of rape at the same court on Thursday. He was found not guilty of one count of non-fatal strangulation.

Dugan subjected a woman to rape in May this year. He was arrested on 27th May and charged with two counts of rape and one count of non-fatal strangulation a day later.

“I would like to highlight the bravery of the victim throughout this investigation and trial,” said investigating officer Detective Constable John Swallow.

“The offence was captured on an audio recording which was harrowing to listen to and proved pivotal in the guilty verdict. This investigation was fast-paced and the investigation team worked tirelessly to secure a charge and remand to custody.
