Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been convicted of multiple counts of shoplifting in Milton Keynes.
Asrob Ali, aged 35, of Albany Court, Milton Keynes, pleaded guilty to five counts of shoplifting at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (1/8).
He has been bailed at court to appear at the same court on 22 August for sentencing.
On Monday (31/7), officers conducting a plain-clothes operation saw Ali shoplifting at Co-op Food in Great Linford. They stopped him and found he had items in his possession that he had stolen earlier that day.
Ali was arrested and was charged on Tuesday.
PC Joshua Thompson, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “Ali is a prolific offender in Milton Keynes and he would enter stores multiple times a day to steal from them.
“Ali’s repeat offending has caused real issues for the business and we are pleased to hold him to account for the crimes he has committed.
“We will continue to carry out proactive patrols in Milton Keynes in order to target hotspot areas to combat theft and the rise in shoplifting.
“I would encourage any victims to report such offences to police by calling 101 or via our website, or by calling 999 in an emergency.”
