
Milton Keynes Hospital CEO says its emergency department has 'broken all records'.
More than 470 patients have been seen in just 24 hours at the A&E department at Milton Keynes University Hospital, around 170 more than the average busy day.
Professor Joe Harrison, CEO of Milton Keynes Hospital, took to social media to assure patients that they will be seen as 'soon as possible', despite how busy the department has been.
We have broken all records through ED @MKHospital in the last 24 hours, seeing more than 470 patients (we usually see around 300 on a busy day). A huge thank you to our incredible ED team & fantastic teams across the hospital for their hard work in v challenging circumstances 1/3

The CEO has thanked his staff for their hard work in very challenging circumstances, stating that the hospital remains 'extremely busy'.
It remains extremely busy this morning and I know patients will have experienced & be experiencing longer waiting times, which I know can be v frustrating. We will see you as quickly as possible, thank you for your patience & please do contact me direct if needed 2/3

Patients are also being reminded to use 111 for help if they do not require emergency care.
"Our hospital is currently extremely busy. If you do not require urgent or emergency care, please continue to use #NHS111 for help or use one of the services below," a spokesperson for the hospital said.
