Milton Keynes gritting teams remain on standby as temperatures set to drop

As temperatures are expected to drop over the next few days, Milton Keynes Council's gritting teams have assured residents that they are ready to be deployed in order to maintain safe driving conditions.

Ringway MK, Milton Keynes Council's gritting service, offered an explanation behind their decision to not deploy last night as they posted on social media: "Road surface temperatures are forecast to stay around 2 deg c overnight so no gritting required. Have a good weekend."

Throughout the course of the next week, the Met Office is reporting the temperatures throughout Milton Keynes could reach lows of 2°C.

The council's gritting teams will be closely monitoring any drastic changes in temperatures in order to prevent frost from becoming widespread on local roads.

Due to the national lockdown, it is currently only advised to travel for essential reasons only. For further details on government-issued travel advice, please click here
