Destination MK is working in partnership with MK Council to run a six week radio marketing campaign to encourage more visitors to the city in an effort to help the visitor economy recover after the pandemic.
Milton Keynes Council have released the budget from their Economic Recovery Fund to boost this recovery plan and allow for this marketing campaign to be developed.
Ian Stuart, CEO at Destination Milton Keynes, said:
“This is a huge shot in the arm (excuse the pun) for the visitor economy and for Destination Milton Keynes. We are looking to bounce back from what has been the most difficult 18 months we can all remember. The funding from Milton Keynes Council is an invaluable part in helping us spread the word about what a brilliant city Milton Keynes is to visit and enjoy. The aim is to encourage residents and visitors from further afield to get out and explore what MK has to offer.
The visitor economy is worth over £1 billion to the city and employs many thousands of people, so we are very appreciative of MK Council’s involvement and support for what is a very important initiative for the city as we move forward.”
