Harry’s Rainbow supporters brave their soles for bereaved children!
It has been nearly three weeks since over 40 people completed the Firewalk at The Park MK for the local children’s bereavement charity Harry’s Rainbow, who support children who have lost a parent or sibling in Milton Keynes and the Surrounding Areas.
It was an amazing achievement for everyone who took part. Carly Higgs from MKFM was one of those braving her soles, she said “It was so much fun and really well organised”.
Alison, the Fundraising and Events Manager at Harry’s Rainbow said “We just wanted to say the biggest thank you to all of those who took part and for raising (get ready for it) almost £11,000!!! This has exceeded our expectations and will have a huge impact on our small charity. An extra thank you to Sarah Osaba from The Park MK for organising this event and helping to raise an incredible amount of money”.
To date, Harry’s Rainbow have registered 982 bereaved children and are very proud to have helped these children in some way with their loss of a parent or sibling.
The support they offer can include the provision of books, resources and memory boxes, attending trips, activities and our Rainbow group. All families who are registered will also be given the opportunity of a short break in their Holiday Home.
Support and fundraising that the charity receives helps them to provide this support for FREE for as long as the families and children need it.
