Milton Keynes assemble your herds

Team up for the Willen Hospice Midnight Moo.

What better way to get to know your team members than dressing up in your best cow-fit, and taking on a 5 or 10 mile walk around Milton Keynes for Willen Hospice?

This flagship event is well-known for its party at-moos-phere, getting everyone warmed up with music, fancy dress and a herd mentality, supporting a well-loved local charity. This year’s Midnight Moo is hosted at Middleton Hall in centre:mk and will take place on Friday 20 June. Midnight Moo-ers are welcome to arrive at 8.30pm, ready to walk at 10pm.

Willen Hospice is the only adult hospice in Milton Keynes. They provide specialist, compassionate care to local people over the age of 18 who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, as well as support for their friends and families, completely free of charge. Only 13.8% of the charity’s running costs are met by ongoing funding from the NHS, making them one of the most poorly funded hospices in the UK. This means they rely on the Milton Keynes community to help raise an enormous £8.7 million each year.

The Midnight Moo is the charity’s biggest fundraiser, usually raising over £100,00. Teams are asked to set a fundraising target of £350, or £100 per person. There are plenty of opportunities to have fun with your fundraising; hold a bake sale, host a quiz night, or a fancy dress day - use your imagination!

The charity is currently running an early bird offer until 31 March, with entry including a Midnight Moo t-shirt costing £15, and entry without a t-shirt just £10.

There are plenty of sponsorship and volunteering opportunities as well for those who want to support the event but not walk it. In fact, over 400 volunteers, including ‘Moo Marshalls’ help out every year, with different local companies sponsoring a ‘moo-mile’ along the route.
