Millbrook Healthcare issues urgent appeal for the return of community healthcare equipment

Millbrook Healthcare is appealing for service users who no longer need their equipment to arrange a contact-free collection.

Due to shortages, the priority is to collect community beds, mattresses, commodes, bath lifts, shower chairs, toilet surrounds, patient turning equipment, hoists and slings.

This equipment is loaned on behalf of the NHS and local authority social care teams when people leave hospital or after a period of illness, to help them stay safe at home and retain their independence.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased demand for this equipment and created shortages in supply. If anyone has Millbrook Healthcare equipment they no longer need, please get in touch to book a free collection so that it can be reused to help others who are in need.

At present, Millbrook Healthcare has ample stocks of smaller items such as crutches and walking frames so we ask our service users to hold on to them for the time being.

Contact them to arrange a collection date and on the agreed day, where possible, leave the equipment outside your house. Millbrook Healthcare will take the equipment to our service centres to be deep cleaned, tested and refurbished if necessary, ready to be issued to others on behalf of their clients - the NHS and local social care teams.

Please visit www.millbrook-healthcare.co.uk/collections or call Millbrook Healthcare on 0330 1248214 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday to arrange a contactless collection, free of charge.
