Mayor of Milton Keynes and High Sherrif to lead peace and unity cycle through city

The Mayor of Milton Keynes and High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire are calling on MK residents to join a special cycle ride through Central Milton Keynes on Thursday, July 11.

They want to demonstrate commitment to the values of peace and unity, which are vital to MK’s inclusion and prosperity as the city grows. Cyclists will gather at Station Square to hear from the High Sheriff and Mayor, who will present cycling awards to schools and businesses.

The High Sheriff will touch upon the importance of peace and unity. After years of experience she believes there is much more to bring a community together than to divide one.

As mentioned, the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Marie Bradburn will also make a speech. She will discuss the launch of ‘Year of Cycling in MK’ and the impact this will have on the city as a whole. The Mayor has recently joined Bike Bus pilot rides to Bushfield and Two Mile Ash schools; the importance of cycling and resident’s health and wellbeing is something she is extremely passionate about.

Residents are invited to bring their bikes to Station Square, where Cycle Saviours will provide free bike repairs from 4pm, and Namji’s Restaurant will provide free hot snacks.  Anyone who doesn’t have a bike can hire a Lime e-bike for free, just need to register on Eventbrite.
