'Maybe it's a Milton Keynes thing': Breakfast hosts can't believe we have shopping delivered by robots

BBC Breakfast hosts Dan Walker and Louise Minchin were left in disbelief this morning after learning about the supermarket delivery robots in Milton Keynes.

The pair were covering the story about a Milton Keynes man who used a Starship delivery robot to propose to his girlfriend in the city.

It involved local App Developer Ben Hogan delivering his girlfriend's engagement ring via one of the delivery robots.

But whilst we are used to the robots cruising around the city, it seems not everyone else in the country feels the same.

Host Dan Walker said: "I've never seen one of those robots before, have you see them?"

Louise Minchin replied: "No, I mean I've seen them on Breakfast"

Walker added: "Maybe it's a Milton Keynes thing - well there you go."

It's not the first time people outside Milton Keynes have reacted with surprise about the robots.

They have had national and international media coverage in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, FT and many more.
