The Marston Vale Line, which runs from Bletchley to Bedford, is due to to resume to its services in autumn 2023.
The line was suspended until further notice back in December, after confirmation that Vivarail had entered administration.
"Without the guarantee of effective maintenance cover for the fleet London Northwestern Railway have been left with no option but to temporarily suspend the service whilst a solution is found.
"A full rail replacement bus service (all stations and limited stop) will be provided in the meantime. All vehicles are accessible," Marston Vale Community Partnership explained at the time.
Since its suspension, London Northwestern Railway (LNR) have been working with the Department for Transport to come up with a solution which could see the return of trains as quickly as possible but unfortunately, due to short platforms along the line, there is a limited number of options, the Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership has explained.
Residents and councillors have been calling for the line to be reinstated, with concerns raised over the limitations the replacement bus service offers.
New trains are set to arrive in Bletchley by June 2023 with driver and Senior Conductor training then taking place.
"Due to the unreliable nature of the Class 230 fleet and the short platforms on the route there are only a limited number of trains in the country suitable for use on the route, which has hampered progress," LNR said.
