Police swoop following crime spree.
A man has been jailed for various offences including dangerous driving in Milton Keynes, following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Martin Connors, 31, of Tottenhall Road, Enfield, has been jailed for two years and disqualified from driving for three years and 12 days. He pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen goods, one count of driving a motor vehicle dangerously and one count of burglary.
In June last year, Connors received a stolen BMW 3 Series from Birmingham, and drove the car dangerously across Milton Keynes. Thames Valley Police officers pursued the vehicle, but during the pursuit it collided with a police car in Broadlands. Two officers received injuries, one was serious.
The stolen vehicle was later found, and Connors was identified as a suspect through forensic enquiries. On 6th July, Connors committed a burglary in Leighton Road, taking jewellery and cash. He was once again identified through forensic examinations, during which his DNA was found on a door.
Thames Valley Police tracked him down and he was arrested on 11th August and charged with the offences the following day.
“Martin Connors carried out a crime spree last summer which impacted on a number of victims,” said investigating officer, Detective Constable Emily King.
“This case should send a clear warning to offenders, through our thorough investigations we will arrest, charge and jail you.”
Connors pleaded guilty on 17th January and was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court last week.
