Schools
Most schools across Milton Keynes are closed today. Check out the full list here.
We will update our website and Facebook page over the weekend when schools release information about arrangements for Monday.
Roads
Ringway MK are reporting that main roads are 'passable' throughout Milton Keynes, but there is lots of snow and ice on some untreated estate roads. Take extra care when driving.
Efforts are currently being focussed on gritting roads to schools, shopping centres and industrial areas. Ringway have also said they will be hand salting areas where lorries are unable to reach.
Olney, Woburn Sands, Newport Pagnell and other local footpaths are also being cleared. There are also snow ploughs out in Central Milton Keynes, which will be moving on to other main roads as the day moves on.
Our #gritting teams have had a busy night and roads are passable with care as slush remains. We are ploughing again now before moving to estate roads too @mkcouncil @mkfm @Bucksfire @tvp_mk More #snow expected this afternoon

Trains
Trains across the Virgin Trains and London Northwestern Railway network may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Services from Milton Keynes Central are being affected towards London and the North. If you are able to, you may wish to consider postponing your journey until after the snow has cleared.
Because of today’s weather conditions across the network, London Northwestern Railway have lifted all evening peak ticket restrictions today. Holders of tickets which have time restrictions may travel at any time this evening.
In addition, customers holding London Northwestern Railway 'Advance' tickets (where you have to travel on a specified train) for travel today will be permitted to use any alternative West Midlands Railway or London Northwestern Railway service for the rest of today.

Road conditions mean that all Arriva services may be subject to delays. Routes are currently operating as normal with the exception of the following:

Service 2: Unable to serve Poets Estate, Willen and Green Park at the moment
Service 5: Unable to serve New Bradwell
Service 7: Unable to serve Stantonbury, Furzton, Shenley Church End, Shenley Lodge

Due to the poor conditions, MK Council are suspending food and garden waste collections today so they can concentrate resources into collecting as many bags and boxes as possible.

The Central Library will be open today from 9am -1.00pm, and Wolverton Library from 10am to 1pm. All other Libraries are closed and the Mobile Library will not be operating.
