Labour’s Saskia Soden wins Bletchley East by-election

    Saskia Soden is the newly elected councillor for the Bletchley East ward following a successful by-election for MK Labour Party.

    Following the resignation of Councillor Emily Darlington MP on August 1, a valid request for a by-election was received and took place yesterday, Thursday, September 12. 

    Today (September 13) Cllr Saskia Soden was elected as the newest Labour councillor for the Bletchley East ward. 

    Cllr Saskia Soden said, "I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone in Bletchley East who voted Labour. I am looking forward to working closely with the community on local issues. Thank you to all the amazing volunteers throughout the campaign."

    Cllr Peter Marland, Leader of Milton Keynes City Council said, “Saskia will make a tremendous addition to our Labour Group. People have voted overwhelmingly for change this year, and I know Saskia will work hard to help us deliver it.”

    Callum Anderson, Labour MP for Buckingham and Bletchley, congratulated Saskia on her win, saying, “I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to Saskia Soden for winning the Bletchley East by-election last night. Having worked with Saskia previously, I know she will be a committed local councillor who will work extremely hard to support every individual and community in our town.”
