The Labour Party has made victory with Alistair Strathern winning the Mid Bedfordshire by-election, a seat which has been held by the Conservatives since 1931.
Labour won the Mid Bedfordshire Parliamentary seat with a 1,192 majority, the largest Conservative majority overturned by Labour at a by-election since 1945.
The by-election was triggered after the resignation of Nadine Dorries in August.
Mid Bedfordshire saw a voting turnout of 44%.
Alistair Strathern said: "Tonight residents across Mid Bedfordshire have made history. After decades of being taken for granted, feeling left behind, being under-represented, they made a decision it was time for a change."
Sir Keir Starmer has claimed his party is "redrawing the political map" after the night also saw Labour winning Tamworth.
