Interactive public consultation being held on plans to bring new neighbourhood to South East Milton Keynes

A new interactive public consultation is being held on plans to bring a new neighbourhood to South East Milton Keynes.

The proposed new neighbourhood (South East MK) forms part of a wider area of land, located to the southeast of Milton Keynes, north of Bow Brickhill and west of Woburn Sands.

It creates part of Milton Keynes Council's proposed expansion of Milton Keynes in the adopted Development Plan for the area, Plan:MK.

The proposals brought forward by Fox Land & Property and L&Q Estates are for around 1,700 new homes.

The developers are still in the design process and open to new ideas and they want to understand the needs of the local community, residents, businesses, and stakeholders to inform their plans.

To gather feedback from local people, the developers have worked with digital agency Deetu to create an interactive consultation website to guide visitors through the proposed plans with a site layout, interactive map markers, and illustrative photos.

The developers are in discussions with Milton Keynes Council ahead of the planning application being submitted.

The plans prepared so far follow the vision and guidance material adopted by the Council for the wider South East Milton Keynes area.

New footpaths and redways will complement existing public rights of ways that are being retained and enhanced.

The development's heart will be a new local centre of shops, new schools, and community hubs.

The development will also see the creation of large areas of useable green space, providing a buffer to surrounding neighbourhoods aimed to be enjoyed by new and existing residents.

A mixture of housing types will also be delivered.

People wishing to participate in the consultation site can find more information here and, in addition, can book virtual one-to-one drop-in sessions with the development team on either the 9th, 10th, 15th or 16th February 2022 by going to the booking page

This consultation will close on Sunday 20th February 2022. All feedback from this consultation will be anonymous, though it may be used to prepare the site's planning application.
