More than 120 families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities attended the Milton Keynes SEND Festival 2022.
The annual Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Festival is hosted in partnership by MK Council and PACA MK (Parent Carer Forum). It was held virtually this year with hundreds of participants taking part in a packed programme of online talks, workshops and activities.
The two-day Festival on 5 and 6 February was formally launched live online by the Mayor of Milton Keynes Mohammed Khan and keynote speaker Jason Todd from the Art of Brilliance delivered his own interactive online workshop.
MK’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Festival is an opportunity for young people and their families to meet others living in similar circumstances and engage with professionals and local agencies offering a range of support and advice.
Cllr Zoe Nolan, Cabinet Member for Children and Families at MK Council said: “Our annual SEND Festival has proved, once again, to be a massive hit with local families. We’re so grateful to all the partners who helped arranged a busy and popular schedule of online events and activities. We’ve received lots of positive feedback from young people and their families who’ve told us how much benefit they take out of our two-day event.”
