The Prime Minister has invited households to applaud the late Captain Sir Tom Moore this evening (3/2).
100-year-old Captain Sir Tom, who raised tens of millions of pounds for the NHS, died on Tuesday (2/2) after testing positive for COVID-19.
Boris Johnson led today's PMQs in the House of Commons with a minute's silence to honour him and all victims of the pandemic.
Captain Sir Tom's fundraising efforts were commended by the Prime Minister, with Boris Johnson saying he "inspired the very best in us all".
That is why the Prime Minister is calling on the nation to join in with an applause for Sir Tom and healthcare workers at 6pm this evening.
"We now all have the opportunity to show our appreciation for him," Mr Johnson said.
Households in Milton Keynes and beyond are being asked to take to their doorsteps in tribute to the amazing local man.
