Hopes have been dashed for the return of the much-loved Toys R Us brand to Milton Keynes after a new sign was spotted on the old store on Grafton Gate.
A large 'To Let' sign is now visible above the store, with any interested parties invited to inquire about the large unit.
The 47,500sq foot unit is available to lease "in whole or in part" and is described as being "immediately available".
The news comes despite previous announcements that WHP Global, the owner of Toys R Us, had plans to re-open some UK stores during 2022.
In February, the company said UK Toys R Us stores could open "within months", although none have yet done so.
The Toys R Us UK website is currently asking users to sign up for details of when the UK brand will return.
In the US, the company has announced 400 stores will be opening inside Macy's department stores.
But for now, it looks like it won't be coming to the old store on Grafton Gate in Milton Keynes.
