In celebration of Black History Month 2024, Milton Keynes will proudly welcome Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, the esteemed First Lady of Sierra Leone, for a landmark visit.
Dr. Bio will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Black History Month Art, Culture, and Business Exhibition and will attend a special evening book launch and cultural pageant. This empowering book, for which the First Lady has personally written the Foreword, celebrates the legacy of 21 remarkable African queens, with the goal of inspiring young girls to take pride in their heritage and aspire to greatness. The launch will also feature a unique beauty pageant, where contestants will dress in historical costumes representing one of the queens featured in the book. The event promises to be a vivid celebration of culture, strength, and beauty. The highlight of the evening will be when Her Excellency crowns the winner as “African Queen UK”, adding a prestigious and royal touch to an already exciting occasion.
