General Election 2024 results: Labour celebrates victory in Milton Keynes

    The elected candidates for all three of Milton Keynes’ constituencies have been announced and are now the new MPs for the city following the 2024 UK general election.

    All three candidates across the Milton Keynes constituencies have been elected, and are all from the Labour Party.

    The candidates elected are as follows:

    For the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency, Callum Anderson, Labour Party, has been duly elected as Member of Parliament.

    For the Milton Keynes North constituency, Chris Curtis, Labour Party, has been duly elected as Member of Parliament.

    For the Milton Keynes Central constituency, Emily Darlington, Labour Party, has been duly elected as Member of Parliament.

    Milton Keynes election count summary:

    On Thursday, July 4, 135 polling stations opened from 7am to 10pm across three constituencies in Milton Keynes for voters to cast their ballots in the 2024 UK general election.

    At 10pm, July 4, polling stations across MK closed and ballot boxes made their way to Marshall Arena, Bletchley, to be sorted and counted, to find out the elected MPs representing Milton Keynes in Parliament.

    As of recent, Milton Keynes has been split across three constituencies rather than the previous two. The split constituencies are now as follows; Milton Keynes Central, Milton Keynes North, and Buckingham and Bletchley.

    Shortly after 10pm, ballot boxes began to arrive at the count venue to be sorted.

    By 11:58pm, almost two hours after polling stations closed, all ballot boxes had arrived to the count venue.

    At 1am, July 5, counting of the ballots for all three constituencies began.

    Between 1:35am and 2:56am, Adjudication for doubtful ballots across all three constituencies took place.

    The final results for the Buckingham and Bletchley constituency were announced at 3:18am. The total votes cast for the constituency were 47,847, with an electorate 74,832 and a turnout of 63.94%. Anderson received 17,602 votes.

    The final results for the Milton Keynes North constituency were announced at 3:40am. The total votes cast were 46,161 and a turnout of 65.28%. Chris Curtis received 19,318 votes.

    The final results for the Milton Keynes Central constituency were announced at 3:52am. The total votes cast were 47,930, with an electorate of  81,078 and a turnout of 59.12%. Emily Darlington received 20,209 votes.

    By 4:01am, the final results for the Milton Keynes constituencies were complete and it had been officially announced that all the elected MPs for Milton Keynes were Labour Party candidates.
