Free ‘Cafe and Chat’ event for Milton Keynes residents living with Parkinson’s

People across Milton Keynes who are living with or have a connection to Parkinson’s are invited to a free 'Cafe and Chat' event to help them learn more about the condition, what support is available locally and how to cope with its impact on their lives.

You will be able to meet members from the Milton Keynes Support Group, the Working Age Support Group, Parkinson’s UK, and Carers MK. You will see the friendship and support available along with some activities undertaken by the groups. There will be plenty of friendly faces so please don’t be daunted in attending.

The groups are also keen to gather feedback and ideas from the local community on what new activities people would benefit from across the city.
The café and chat venues (all with free parking) are:

    • Saturday 19th October 11am - 2pm at Routeco Limited, Davy Avenue, Knowlhill, MK5 8HJ

“Being diagnosed with Parkinson’s can be a shock and adapting to life with the condition can be hard for the person involved and their loved ones too. But we know that getting the right information and support at the right time can make all the difference. That’s why we’re proud to be able to offer this opportunity to people across Milton Keynes who are living with Parkinson’s and look forward to welcoming people to one of these very special events. It is vital that we can support everyone affected by Parkinson’s, so that together, we can move towards everyone with the condition feeling empowered to take back control of their life with Parkinson’s.”

Around 145,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with Parkinson’s, including around 420 people in Milton Keynes. Parkinson's UK is the UK's leading charity supporting those with the condition.
