The former Mayor of Milton Keynes Subhan Shafiq has sadly passed away with coronavirus.
A family friend has told MKFM that Mr Shafiq was in hospital in Pakistan for the past 10 days but sadly passed away this morning.
Mr Shafiq was the mayor during the summer of 2014 before he resigned.
Friends and family have been paying tributes to him this morning on social media.
