Firefighters have suspected that a blaze was started deliberately at a derelict pub near Milton Keynes last night (5/7).

Dozens of firefighters rushed to the property along the Buckingham Road, in Adstock just before 10pm.

One appliance and crew from Buckingham, three from Aylesbury, three from West Ashland, two from Broughton, one from Waddesdon and four officers attended.

Firefighters used two main jets, one hose reel, two sets of breathing apparatus, a turntable ladder, a thermal imaging camera and a fog spike – a tool used to punch holes into a structure and deliver water into the inside. Firefighters were unable to get inside the building.

Relief crews from Brill and Newport Pagnell arrived at about 2am.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

If anybody has information about the cause of the fire then they should contact Thames Valley Police on 101.
