Fire crew near Milton Keynes delayed due to parked cars

    Firefighters from a fire station near Milton Keynes were delayed in their response to an incident this afternoon due to parked cars.

    Olney Fire Station have asked people to be considerate when parking in the local area.

    A video shared on social media shows fire crews struggling to drive a large fire engine between two parked cars on East Street in Olney.

    Sharing an image on Facebook, a spokesperson for the fire station said: "The Olney crew have just been delayed mobilising to an incident to move cars so that they could get out."

    "This delays response to people in need. Please leave enough space for emergency vehicles to get through."

    It comes as local residents have reported huge numbers of cars parked on residential streets close to the Olney Recreation Ground during the past few days of high temperatures.
