It seems that this week is full of Christmas-related announcements with organisations revealing their festive plans for 2020.
Yesterday, the centre:mk made a much-anticipated statement regarding its popular grotto in Middleton Hall. Actors dressed as Peter Rabbit and other Beatrix Potter characters will be creating an immersive and theatrical adventure before children meet Santa Claus.
And the next venue to unveil its plans is Milton Keynes Museum, with the man in red set to visit for the first three weekends in December.
“Inevitably we have had to make some changes this year,” said museum director Bill Griffiths, “We won't be able to have the usual Christmas carols in the parlour and associated activities for obvious reasons.
“Instead of using the farmhouse this time, Father Christmas will be meeting families in one of our new galleries which he will be using as his temporary workshop, and naturally we will be fully covid secure. A visit to Father Christmas will be different this year, but it will still be something really magical,” he promised.
“2020 has been extraordinary and very difficult for many families. This is a chance to make a happy memory, and we are absolutely thrilled that Father Christmas has chosen to come and spend time with us during his busiest period.”
Father Christmas will be at Milton Keynes Museum for the following weekends:
Fridays 4th, 11th and 18th December, 4.30pm-7pm
Saturdays 5th, 12th and 19th December, 1.30pm-6pm
Sundays 6th, 13th and 20th December, 1.30pm-6pm
Advance booking is essential and tickets are expected to sell fast. Entry is £8.50 per child (up to two adults can go free) and every child (0-12 years old) will receive a special gift to take home.
