UPDATE 15:20 - Statement from Bucks Fire and Rescue.
‘A number of Dry Powder Extinguishers were stolen from a local petrol station in the early hours of this morning.
‘Which were then discharged throughout a number of sites and properties in the Newport Pagnell town centre.
‘Police continuing investigations into Anti Social Behaviour.’
UPDATE 13:51 - Thames Valley Police has released the following statement:
‘We are pleased to say the incident on Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell, has now been resolved.
’The substance was found to be inert and consistent with fire extinguishers.
‘No one has been injured and the road has reopened.
‘Thank you for your patience.’
UPDATE 12:08 - Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue are dealing with an unidentified substance.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "The road closures are in place as a precaution. We do not believe there to be any significant risk, but the closures will remain until it is ascertained what the substance is."
UPDATE 12:06 - A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service has told MKFM that they are not treating any patients in connection to this incident currently.
UPDATE 11:02 - Local residents are being asked to keep windows and doors closed.
Emergency services are currently on the scene of an incident at Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell.
Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance service and Buckinghamshire fire and Rescue are among those attending.
Residents are being asked to avoid the area which is currently closed.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police wrote: "We are aware of an incident ongoing at Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell. Officers from Thames Valley Police are currently on the scene alongside colleagues from Buckinghamshire Fire and rescue and South Central Ambulance Service.
"There is currently a cordon in place at Tickford Street which is closed in both directions between Iron Bridge and Chicheley Street. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area."
