Bucks Fire and Rescue Service have revealed that two wooden sheds caught on fire yesterday at Milton Keynes shopping centre.

Yesterday, August 26, emergency services attended a fire located at Queens Court in Milton Keynes shopping centre.

It has been revealed by Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service that two wooden catering sheds, at the Queens Court food market, caught on fire.

Two crews and appliances from West Ashland attended the scene, along with one crew from Winslow and two police officers.

The firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two main jets, and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Bucks Fire and Rescue Service said, "One of the outbuildings was 100 percent destroyed by the fire, the other was approximately 50 percent damaged by the fire."

One eye-witness told MKFM, "My mum and I witnessed the explosion at the CMK shopping centre today [Monday, August 26]. We were sat about 20 metres away from the incident. It began with a piercing noise of what we thought to be a jet washer or some sort of cleaning system. This noise continued for 1-2 minutes. It then dawned on us that it actually sounded like a gas canister. So we got up to leave the area, but as we did a deep rumble that soon turned out to be an aggressive explosion, engulfed the hut up into vivid, orange flames. People then proceeded to exit the building."

Yesterday, after news of the incident stormed social media, Thames Valley Police took to Facebook and said, "We are currently on scene at a fire in Queens Court Food Market in Centre:MK, alongside Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust."

There have been no reports of any injured parties.
