Eight new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes for Sunday

    Eight new cases of coronavirus were reported in Milton Keynes today.

    It brings the total number of people tested positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 20,077 - of which 49 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate, or infection rate, has risen slightly from 18.9 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 19.3 cases per 100,000 people today.

    This is below the national average which stands at 24.7 cases per 100,000 people.

    Nationally, there was an additional 1,712 people tested positive today, with 11 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

    None of these deaths took place in Milton Keynes, meaning the city's total COVID-linked death toll still stands at 463 since the start of the pandemic.
