MK Council will be leading a day of community activities to help brighten city centre neighbourhoods and provide face-to-face support for local residents.
The neighbourhood day will take place on Thursday 3rd February.
MK Council teams will be joined on Silbury Boulevard, North Ninth and Tenth Streets in Central Milton Keynes by a number of other local agencies including Thames Valley Police, CNWL, Connections, Mears and the Parish Council.
The Council and its partners will be on-hand throughout the day to offer face-to-face support, answer people’s questions and lead a city centre neighbourhood litter pick involving local residents.
Cllr Lauren Townsend, Cabinet Member for the Public Realm with responsibility for Community Safety said: “We’re pleased to be working with our local partners to coordinate a full day of community activities for city centre residents. We’ll be helping people with practical things like arranging housing repairs and providing a range of service specific advice and support. We want residents to feel safe and know that support is here for them.”
As well as providing practical face-to-face help for residents to ensure they know who to ask if ever they need help, the Council-led project will also help to strengthen its work with other local agencies including the police and health services.
The community activities will begin on Silbury Boulevard, North Ninth and Tenth Streets in Central Milton Keynes on Thursday 3 February from 10am until 2pm.
