Festive tune from local band heading for the charts.
Music fans are hoping that a new song, written and performed by a popular Milton Keynes band, will make it into the Christmas charts – and maybe even hit the number 1 spot.
‘I Know That Christmas’ was released this week by talented local band Francis, who are fronted by MK-born Alex Wesley. It’s described as ‘a heartfelt ode to love, wrapped in the warmth of classic festive vibes’.
Now the group is urging everyone to listen to the song, download or stream it to help it become a success.
The band has already cemented its place as one of the most exciting names in the live music scene and its performances have won international acclaim. With more than 2,500 gigs to their name, Francis have headlined iconic venues such as Lock, Stock & Barrel in Dubai and shared the stages with legends such as Sam Smith and Guns N' Roses at the 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
They already have a partnership with Universal Music as well as collaborations with Yamaha Guitars and Marshall Amps.
The Christmas song began as a simple guitar tune inspired by supergroup Led Zeppelin and evolved into a complete track last year, according to singer, guitarist and pianist Alex.
It ends with church bells which poignantly, were recorded on the day of the funeral of Alex’s grandmother Barbara.
