Costa Coffee re-open first branch in Milton Keynes for take-away

Costa Coffee have re-opened their branch at the Kingston Centre in Milton Keynes for take-away only.

The site is one of 15 across the UK which are now open for take-away, alongside 31 other sites which are open for Drive Thru.

Posting the news on their website, Costa Coffee added: "Over the past three weeks, in line with Government guidelines, we have been trialling social distancing across a small number of Costa stores."

"We have also enhanced our hygiene procedures and adapted our operations, including contactless payment only and providing personal protective equipment for all team members."

The company have put a number of health and safety measures in place including:

    • The number of customers entering a store at one time will be restricted depending on the store size.

    • Clear floor signage will ask customers to support all social distancing guidelines when queuing both inside and outside the store.

    • Once inside there will be a hand sanitiser station for customers to use and only one customer will be allowed to the counter at a time, which have been fitted with Perspex screens.

    • To maintain a contactless service, we will only accept contactless payment and won’t be able to accept physical Coffee Club cards. Customers can still collect and redeem loyalty points using the Costa app.

    • We will have a limited menu on offer and are unable to accept reusable cups for the time being.

    • Finally, team members will be wearing personal protective equipment but please know that there’s a warm smile greeting you underneath.

The Kingston site is the only Costa Coffee branch in Milton Keynes which is open at present, with no dates given for any other sites yet.
