Christmas decorations are starting to crop up across the city now that there is just under six weeks to go until the big day.

And each year, one of the most anticipated displays is at the centre:mk. Residents will usually travel from across the region to visit Middleton Hall and see Father Christmas at the Grotto.

Up until a couple of months ago, people were questioning whether the Grotto would go ahead this year, as the centre:mk was one of the last to make the much-anticipated announcement.

The Grotto is now being put up ready to welcome guests when lockdown ends on the 3rd December. And it has been confirmed that it will be one of the largest in the UK.

A brand new theatrical experience will be launched, with the theme being centered around Peter Rabbit and friends.

Children will meet Squirrel Nutkin, Mr. Tod and even decorate elf biscuits with Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, before meeting Santa himself.

Each family will spend 25 to 30 minutes enjoying the experience, which includes a decorated Christmas Elf biscuit in a gift bag and a gift from Santa for each child.

Those who do not wish to visit the Grotto will be able to walk around the Christmas displays throughout the centre.

The centre:mk yesterday shared a photograph showing what people can expect. A spokesperson said: "This is just the start of the beautiful Christmas decorations at the centre this year, we still have incredible selfie points to come, and of course our new Santa’s Grotto opening on 3rd December."
