A new school year, new classmates and exciting new adventures await with The Parks Trust, the charity caring for over 6,000 acres of green space across Milton Keynes.
In the last school year, more than 13,000 children in Milton Keynes took part in over 400 outdoor learning activities. The Parks Trust offers a range of subsidised curriculum-based sessions for Pre-School, Primary and Secondary School children as well as assemblies, workshops, and youth programmes like Junior Park Rangers.
Junior Park Rangers is a great way for schools to encourage children (Years 4-6) to love nature, look after their local green spaces and spread the word about getting outside and enjoying the outdoors!
Best of all, Junior Park Rangers is FREE for schools and children. By joining, they can take part in nature and environment-themed activities with their school and can attend free weekend workshops with The Parks Trust, where they can enjoy fun activities around MK’s parks.
Schools on the programme can also enter the Outstanding Rangers Award, won last year by Giles Brook Primary, with Rickley Park Primary close runner-up. Their green-themed activities included litter picking, tree planting, nature scavenger hunts, making bird feeders, taking part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch and surveying the local hedgehog populations.
