The event raised £46,000 to date, with approximately £13,000 going towards supporting young people living at YMCA Milton Keynes.
On November 16th, Milton Keynes College hosted the CEO Sleepout, an inspiring event where local business leaders spent a night outdoors to raise awareness and funds for people experiencing homelessness.
The CEO Sleepout brought together an incredible group of individuals committed to making a difference in their community. Kat Newman, Director of Youth and Community at YMCA MK, participated in an insightful panel discussion alongside Bus Shelter MK and Unity MK, highlighting the role of everyone’s participation in supporting local young people. Participants braved the cold night to experience firsthand the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness, fostering empathy and understanding around the topic.
The £13,00 raised will:
· Provide safe and supportive housing for young people
· Deliver tailored emotional and practical support
· Offer employment guidance and skills development
Our work provides support to empower young people to build brighter futures and contribute positively to our community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took part, your dedication and commitment to supporting our mission is amazing!
“I felt very privileged to take part in this year’s CEO sleepout and raise money for YMCA MK. Thank you to everyone for their support – either by sleeping out or sponsoring the sleepers. Most of us got very little sleep, but there was a great team spirit among everyone taking part. The work of the 3 charities is so inspiring, and for me, knowing that my efforts will directly impact young people at the YMCA made every moment of that long, cold night worthwhile.”
Rosalind Lee, Head of Fundraising & Partnerships at YMCA Milton Keynes
We encourage everyone to continue donating and supporting our mission of ensuring every local young person has a safe place to call home.
