A busy Milton Keynes road has been undergoing safety improvements and will now close on March 28th for the final stage of work.
The highways team at Milton Keynes Council will be beginning the final phase of a safety improvement scheme that has been taking place on the V8 Marlborough Street between the H7 and H8.
The the right way junction from V8 Marlborough Street to Chadds Lane in Peartree Bridge has been closed off as well as other works such as clearing vegetation, installing drainage and new kerbs, removing old signs & lampposts.
From 28th March until 5th April, the road will be closed for resurfacing and lining works.
The improvement works started back in January due to the amount of crashes that have taken place on the road. When collision data is above average, the highways team are obliged to act.
35 crashes have taken place on the stretch of road since June 2015 and a spokesperson for Milton Keynes Highways has said that over the last five years, seven personal injury collisions were reported to Thames Valley Police.
