A police forensic investigation unit was in the Linford Wood area of Milton Keynes earlier.
The unit was parked on the side of the Dansteed Way road with forensic officers and PCSOs in Linford Wood itself.
An archaeologist was also at the scene at present as well as a regular Police car.
A Police Community Support Officer at the scene told an MKFM reporter: "We've found something in the woods. It's old."
It did not appear that any area of the wood was sealed off.
Thames Valley Police have now confirmed to MKFM that they found animal remains and the scene has been closed down.
