Thames Valley Police say more information will be shared as soon as possible.
Thames Valley Police have asked that anybody with footage of the incident do not share it online, instead send it to police.
Milton Keynes College have released the following statement: "We are aware of reports of an incident on the redway next to our Chaffron Way campus. Police and Ambulance services have been on the scene immediately and we believe the situation to be contained and have therefore not been advised to close the campus at this time.
"We know at this stage that colleagues and students both witnessed the incident and helped to provide emergency first aid, they are being supported by our counselling teams.
"Whilst this incident did not happen on our campus, we do know that the fact it was witnessed by College students will heighten anxiety and feelings of being unsafe. We will therefore be increasing leadership presence and security at our Chaffron Way campus next week to help to provide reassurance."
Woughton Community Council have posted on Facebook warning parents collecting children from St Pauls and MK Academy to find a seperate route: "We understand that there has been an incident at Palace Square, between Leadenhall and Coffee Hall, which has resulted in the area being cordoned off.
"Please avoid the area if at all possible and, for those of you collecting children from St Pauls / MK Academy, we would advise finding an alternative route through.
"We will update as soon as we hear anything more."
MKFM will update this article as more information from Thames Valley Police comes...
